Sample Course Description for Film Study or Literature to Film

In this course students investigate how and what ideas, values and concepts are connected through film. In analyzing film, students will examine elements of plot, setting, style, and point-of-view. Class activities include viewing, listening, researching, and analyzing film. A Film Study course is always recommended before taking a Video/Media Production course.

Some school districts may have film policies which require parental permission before students can participate in classroom viewing of R-Rated material. Please select films that are appropriate for your classroom situation and needs, and follow your schools published policies.
